Phase Two of Marvel Studios is already very much underway and to say that we are excited about it, is quite an understatement. “Iron Man 3” releases in AMC Theatres in May 2013, “Thor: The Dark World” in November 2013, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in April 2014 and “The Avengers 2” in May 2015. Director and scribe James Gunn is leading the charge for the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy”, set to hit AMC Theatres in August 2014. With that locked, we can now move on to the casting.

Actors such as Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess, Jack Huston, Lee Pace and Eddie Redmayne have auditioned for the Guardians’ leader Peter Quill, later known as Star-Lord. James Marsden, Garrett Hedlund and Sullivan Stepleton are also rumored to be interested in the role.

Peter Quill was a former NASA astronaut who learns that his father is an alien, which leads him to outer space and then to his eventual transformation into Star-Lord. He is one of five members of the Guardians, which also includes Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax The Destroyer and Gamora.

Who do you think should play Star-Lord? Let us know in the comments section below!

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.
