Ever since news hit that the first nine minutes of J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek Into Darkness" was going to premiere with IMAX showings of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", it gave us yet another reason to be excited for Peter Jackson's return to middle earth.

We saw the first teaser trailer which satisfied our hunger for now until the big reveal and caught a glimpse of Alice Eve's ("She's Out of My League") character in the film. We just learned that Eve will be playing Carol Marcus. Marcus was a Federation Scientist whose work led to the top-secret "Project Genesis". She had a relationship with James T. Kirk and became a mother to his son David. She ended up raising the child alone as the duo felt it was the best course of action.

We aren't sure at this time how large of a role Marcus will have in this new installment and if they will follow the story verbatim. We'll keep you posted as the story develops.

"Star Trek Into Darkness" comes to AMC Theatres on May 17th 2013.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
