Danny Boyle has done an incredible job at distinguishing himself as a director who can tackle any subject matter. From his gripping zombie-drama "28 Days Later" to his latest film based on the incredible true story "127 Hours", his artistic eye and approach is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
The first images have been released for his next film "Trance" starring James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel. Penned by Joe Ahearne and John Hodge, the film is about a fine art auctioneer that gets mixed up with a gang and partners with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting.
On the film, Boyle stated, "It begins like [a thriller]. But it takes the idea of a stolen painting and develops into something sleeker and more psychological, with twists and turns.”
Regarding the tone of the film, Boyle explains his approach, "I wanted to do an updated noir, give it a contemporary spin in terms of emotion,” adds Boyle, determined to not reveal too much. “Noir is usually cold. I wanted it to be more emotionally charged. It’s the first time I put a woman at the heart of a movie.”
"Trance" hits the UK in March 14th 2013, with a potential U.S. release date of Spring.
