The first official trailer and poster have been released for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming sci-fi flick "Pacific Rim". Penned by Travis Beacham, the film follows giant robots piloted by humans who are deployed to fight after an alien attack threatens Earth's existence. We learned last week that a sequel script has already been ordered which is always an interesting development when a film hasn't even been released yet. The trailer is pretty cool and we definitely can't wait to see what all the fuss is about. After all, del Toro has proven that the monsters of his imagination are a force to be reckoned with.

"Pacific Rim" hits AMC Theatres on July 12th 2013 and stars Idris elba, Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
