Actor Hugh Jackman has had a big year. His critically acclaimed "Les Miserables" has already given him an Oscar nod and it doesn't officially release until Christmas. Now it is confirmed that he is joining the cast of Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Singer turned to Twitter to announce that Jackman was locked for his upcoming film and you can see the official Tweet below:

Bryan Singer @BryanSinger:

"I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come..."

This will mark the 7th time Jackman plays Wolverine, with James Mangold's "The Wolverine" hitting AMC Theatres on July 26th 2013.

The comic book storyline of "Days of Future Past" tells the tale of a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into the younger, present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria.

With news of Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and now Hugh Jackman joining the cast, our eager minds are wondering who could be next to reprise their previous role and join this new generation of "X-Men".

Penned by Jane Goldman, Simon Kinberg and Mattthew Vaughn, Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" has James McAvoy (Younger Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Raven), Michael Fassbender (Younger Magneto) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) all returning to reprise their roles.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" opens in AMC Theatres on July 18th 2014.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
