Kevin Smith Says CLERKS III Will Be the Last Film He Writes and Directs

Kevin Smith Excited

Kevin Smith, writer, director and geek favorite, announced on Twitter today that he would be making a "Clerks III" and that the film would mark his last full-length writing and directorial effort. He turned to Twitter and stated, "With the HIT SOMEBODY shift, the minute Jeff Anderson signs on, my last cinematic effort as a writer/director will be CLERKS III". The title he mentions "Hit Somebody" was his feature film which is now becoming a television mini-series instead.

This news should be taken with a grain of salt however as Kevin Smith is amongst a group of directors such as Quentin Tarantino, who frequently recite that their next project will be their last. The good news in the meantime is that we are getting a "Clerks III". Dante without Randal is like salt without pepper, the oreo cookie without the creamy center. Hopefully Jeff Anderson signs on sooner than later so this idea actually comes to fruition.
