We Rode on a Tank with Arnold Schwarzenegger

By AMC February 5, 2013

I think it's safe to say at this point, that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a renaissance man. He acts, used to body build, and has dabbled with politics. Now, we can add tank driver to his resume. And not just any tank, an M-47 that he calls his own.

I had the rare pleasure of going down to Melody Ranch this past weekend to ride on a tank with Schwarzenegger. Yep, you read that right. Lionsgate had the brilliant idea, in support of their upcoming film "The Last Stand", which marks Arnold's return to acting in a leading role. The film looks like it could showcase Arnold in a role we know and love him for, as seen in such classic films as "True Lies". Complete with action, comedy and some clever one-liners, the film looks like it's definitely going to be a good time.

As I was holding on to the side of the tank for dear life, I'm happy to report that Arnold has amazing precision when it comes to driving a tank. Several times it looked like we were about to take out some very large trees, but Arnold had it under control. In case any of us doubted the power of said tank, we had the privilege of watching him completely pancake a car! He was also smoking a cuban while driving, I might add. As if the coolness factor needed to be further solidified.

Melody Ranch also happens to be where Quentin Tarantino shot some of "Django Unchained". We had lunch inside the actual saloon from the film, where Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx indulged in a beer before getting into it with the town deputy. Being a huge Tarantino fan, that was quite a thrill.

Well ladies and gentlemen, he told us he'd be back! Check out "The Last Stand" in AMC Theatres on January 18th.
