James Franco to Direct and Star in BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

By AMC February 5, 2013

Actors taking their turn at the director's chair, is becoming a common occurrence these days. James Franco, who can be seen next in "Oz The Great and Powerful", which hits AMC Theatres on March 8th, has made plans to direct and star in the film "Beautiful People".

The film is being produced by Franco, David Bortolucci, Julie Yorn, Miles Levy and Vince Jolivette and the script was penned by Lauren Wild. The project tells the true story of charismatic hair-stylist Jay Sebring, up to his tragic death, and is described as follows:

The 1960s in Hollywood - the action-packed setting for the love story of Jay Sebring & Sharon Tate. Steve McQueen, Bruce Lee, The Rat Pack, even Jim Morrison were friends of Jay and Sharon. Their love was legend in Hollywood. Their murders at the hands of the Manson 'family' in 1969 effectively ended the sixties' peace-love age of innocence.
