While we have been watching the short list become bigger for the stars considered for the role of Peter Quill in "Guardians of the Galaxy", a new casting update has emerged. And it's rather interesting, I might add.
This morning, it was reported that Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are being eyed to join the cast of James Gunn's film. We aren't sure for what role yet and if they are being considered for the same part, but the film is said to need some "comic relief". Our guess would be that the role is for Rocket Racoon, but only time will tell.
Carrey has already played The Riddler in "Batman Forever", which received less than positive reviews. He has another shot at a comic-book film when he plays Colonel Stars and Stripes in the upcoming "Kick-Ass 2". Perhaps this makes him a better fit than Sandler, or does Sandler deserve a shot outside of films he just produces and stars in?
On the note of Star-Lord's potentials list expanding, we also learned that Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell and Cam Gigandet are now being considered for the role.
