Martin Scorsese to Produce Andrew Lau's REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS

By AMC February 13, 2013

It's baffling that the very talented Martin Scorsese, only won his first Oscar with "The Departed" in 2006. I mean come on, "Goodfellas"? Enough said.

Scorsese's Award-winning "Departed" was adapted from Andrew Lau's Chinese Blockbuster, "Infernal Affairs". The two are now more directly working together, as Scorsese is going to executive produce Lau's upcoming film "Revenge of the Green Dragons".

Michael Di Jiacomo wrote the screenplay for the project, which was based on an article in The New Yorker. The story revolves around the Chinese-American underworld in New York City and follows two Chinese immigrants, who are working their way up the ladder in the Green Dragons gang. The plot thickens when one of their associates has an affair with a high-ranking leader in the gang.

Scorsese will executive produce alongside Deepak Nayar, Steven Squillante, Michael Bassick, and Art Spigel. Production is set to kick-off this April in New York City.

"Revenge of the Green Dragons" will hit AMC Theatres in 2014.
