For those hoping Steven Spielberg was still going to be directing and not just serving as the executive producer on "Jurassic Park IV", are going to be disappointed by this news. Director Colin Trevorrow has officially signed on to helm the fourth dino film in the franchise.
Is this a ballsy or an inspired move on behalf of Universal and Amblin Entertainment, to hire a lesser-known director for such a big project? The most notable film that Trevorrow has directed to date is the indie flick "Safety Not Guaranteed". While the film was met with solid reviews and Trevorrow is a big fan of the prehistoric franchise, many may still be surprised by this decision.
Do you think the studio should have held out for a more established director or do you think this is a good move? Let us know in the comments section below!
"Jurassic Park IV" hits AMC Theatres on June 13th 2014 and "Jurassic Park 3D" hits on April 5th for one week in IMAX.
