Jessica Chastain Eyed for Jane in TARZAN

By AMC March 7, 2013

One of the most beautiful and talented red-heads in the industry, Jessica Chastain, has certainly become the "it" girl overnight. And for good reason. Having starred and dazzled in such films as "The Help" and recently "Zero Dark Thirty", Chastain has more than proven she can tackle any subject matter with grace.

The actress is now being eyed as the first choice to star as Jane in David Yates' live-action "Tarzan". Rumor has it that Alexander Skarsgard and Samuel L. Jackson have also been eyed for the project but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Stephen Sommers and Stuart Beattie penned the script for "Tarzan", which was based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' 1912 book "Tarzan of the Apes." The film will explore how John Clayton III (known as Tarzan) is ordered by Queen Victoria to investigate the current state of the Congo. With the help of his friend Williams, they soon discover that a fierce warlord is controlling the massive diamond mine, and so the adventure begins.
