Actress-comedian Sarah Silverman is in negotiations to join the cast of writer-director Seth MacFarlane's new comedy "A Million Ways to Die in the West". The roster already includes the beautiful Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried. MacFarlane will also be showcasing his acting chops.
Silverman will be playing the town prostitute, who ironically enough won't have sex before marriage with her fiancé (Ribisi). Silverman last starred in the indie flick "Take This Waltz" and was charming as the voice of animated Vanellope von Schweetz in "Wreck-It Ralph". Her crude humor and clever timing seems like a perfect fit for a MacFarlane comedy.
The film is said to be a comedy in the vein of "Blazing Saddles". The story follows a farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and watches his girlfriend leave him in result. He then meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot. The farmer sees this as a chance to win back his love, but slowly falls for the woman instead. As one can imagine, complications ensue.
MacFarlane has penned the script, along with "Ted" co-writers Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. Production is scheduled to begin this Spring.
