Georges St-Pierre Joins CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel

By AMC March 27, 2013

Following the huge news of Robert Redford potentially joining the cast of the sequel "Captain America: The Winter Solider", there has been another interesting casting update.

Apparently the Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) and Crossbones (Frank Grillo) weren't enough of an opposition for Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America (Chris Evans). UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre has now been brought on to finalize the trifecta of villains, and he will be portraying Batroc the Leaper. It appears that the rapper-turned-actor trend is becoming replaced by wrestlers and fighters now.

St-Pierre, commonly referred to in his circles as GSP, will portay Batroc the mercenary and thief. He served in the French Foreign Legion and trained himself in a form of foot boxing. His main abilities were that of a warrior and thief and he would sell his skills to the higher bigger, crossing Captain America's path several times in the comics.

Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the film, working from a script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. We aren't sure how large of a role Batroc will have, but GSP definitely seems like a good fit for the part.
