In preparation for the release of M. Night Shyamalan's new Will Smith and son Jaden Smith sci-fi flick "After Earth", Columbia Pictures has partnered with Google+ to host a hangout discussion. The panelists will discuss the themes presented in the film, including "science, technology, innovation and the future".

The panel was moderated by Ray Kurzweil, Google's director of engineering, and the panelists include the Smiths, Elon Musk (the founder of SpaceX, co-founder of Tesla Motors and Paypal), Alexandra Cousteau (filmmaker/environmental advocate), and NASA astronaut Sunita Williams.

Synopsis of the film, which opens in AMC Theatres on May 31st:

In After Earth, a crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.
