It's been an interesting ride following the Michael Bay-produced "Ninja Turtles" news. It's now been reported that another important role has been filled.
The role of the turtles' leader Master Splinter, who is none other than a huge and wise rat, has been filled by Danny Woodburn.
While Woodburn's name might not initially ring a bell, he has been in numerous films and shows that you have most likely seen him in. Such films include "Mirror Mirror" as Grimm, "Death to Smoochy" as Angelo Pike and on the hilarious "Seinfield" TV show as Mickey.
The last casting update came in the form of Will Arnett in an unspecified role. Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher and Jeremy Howard are set as Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Donatello and Megan Fox will be playing April O'Neill.
Splinter as well as the turtles will not be live-action but will rather be created using performance capturing technologies, similar to Andy Serkis' Gollum in "Lord of the Rings".
Now that most of the big roles have being filled, we still have the Turtles' enemy Shredder to cast. With all these interesting casting updates, I wouldn't be surprised if Ashton Kutcher or someone along those lines plays him.
