James Franco is set to direct and star in the film adaptation of Andrew Dubus III's "The Garden of the Last Days". This will mark Franco's second directorial effort, as his first debut "As I Lay Dying", will be showcased at Cannes.

"The Garden of the Last Days" centers around a stripper named April, her daughter, and two unusual clients. It is said to be a "painful novel about sex, parenthood, honor and masculinity. Set in the seamy underside of American life, it juxtaposes lust for domination with hunger for connection, sexual violence with family love. "

Dubus is of course known for his emotionally charged and raw books, as seen in his other book-to-film adaptation "The House of Sand and Fog", which starred Sir Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.
