Jim Carrey is really getting is career back on track, by rocking such roles as Steve Grey in "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and the soon-to-be "Kick-Ass 2" as Colonel Stars as Stripes. Now it's been reported that Carrey will revive and star as "Ricky Stanicky".
Actor James Franco was set to star as the role in 2010 with Peyton Reed helming. Now Carrey will star and will be guided by writer-director Steve Oedekerk. The story was penned by Jeffrey Bushell and centers on three teenage friends, who burn down a house in result of a prank gone wrong. The trio blames the fire on a fictitious guy named Ricky Stanicky. After years of blaming mishaps on the same guy, friends and girlfriends of the gents, demand to meet the mysterious character and the trio must hire an actor to play him.
Oedekerk and Carrey have previously worked together on "Bruce Almighty", where Oedekerk wrote the script and he also directed Carrey in "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls."
