We recently reported that after the release of "Fast and Furious 6", that production on "Fast and Furious 7" would begin immediately, gearing up for a Summer 2014 release.
After directing the last four "Fast and Furious" movies, Justin Lin has decided to hang his hat and bow out of the seventh installment. His exit was not due to conflicts with the studio, but rather his feeling that he would not be able to produce his best work on such a tight timeline.
I personally find this very respectable. Especially considering what impressive numbers Lin has put up at the box office for his films, it is certainly not only about the money to him. His "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" grossed $158 million worldwide, "Fast and Furious" grossed over $350 million and "Fast Five" went on to gross $626 million.
It has not been announced yet who will take over helming the franchise for Lin, but word is that it will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Who do you think should take over for Lin in directing the "Fast and Furious" franchise? Let us know in the comments section below!
Lin's final installment "Fast and Furious 6", will hit AMC Theatres on May 24.
