Matthew McConaughey is officially confirmed to star in Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi flick "Interstellar". The actor simply responded with "I'm confirming", to questions pertaining to his involvement in the film.
The story of "Interstellar" deals with time travel and alternate dimensions, and is inspired by the work of physicist Kip Thorne. The script is said to "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding." McConaughey will be playing the lead of Cooper.
While more recently known for his charming and quirky roles in such films as "Magic Mike" and "Failure to Launch", McConaughey has definitely shown his range and depth in such films as "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "A Time to Kill". I'm excited to see what the always incredible Christopher Nolan brings out of him in this film.
Nolan is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother, Jonathan Nolan. No word on production or other cast members.
