Zoe Saldana in Talks to Play Gamora in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

By AMC April 5, 2013

The roster for James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" is starting to fill up, and news of the latest edition is rather fantastic.

The gorgeous and talented Zoe Saldana is in negotiations to play the female lead of Gamora. Gamora is a green-skinned humanoid and skilled assassin, the last of a species exterminated by the Badoon. Saldana is great as Uhura in "Star Trek" as well in "Avatar", so she seems like a great fit for this role.

If the deal is locked, she would be joining Chris Pratt who will lead as Star-Lord, and Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer.

We got our first glimpse of Rocket Raccoon yesterday via some awesome concept art and the voice for the character still needs to be cast. The character of Groot also still needs to be cast, so we should be hearing some more updates on this front soon.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" will hit AMC Theatres August 1st 2014.
