ASSASSIN'S CREED Locked for Memorial Day Release

By AMC May 20, 2013

The trend of video games being turned into movies is not a new feat. Successful adaptations however are, and only a few come to mind, such as "Tomb Raider" and the "Resident Evil" franchises.

We've heard news of the "Assassin's Creed" project for some time now, where the incredible Michael Fassbender is producing as well as starring. A release date has now been locked, and the film will hit AMC Theatres everywhere on May 22, 2015.

This is big news indeed, because releasing over Memorial Day Weekend is a highly coveted release date. That eludes to the fact that the studio and Fassbender are very confident in their upcoming project. The very rich and in-depth game and narrative, does lend itself really well to a film version.

It has not been confirmed yet but speculation leads us to believe Fassbender will be portraying the main character in the game franchise, Desmond Miles. He could also be playing 12th century assassin Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, or Italian playboy Ezio Auditore da Firenze. You had me at Fassbender, so I'm personally good with whoever he plays.
