Disney's List of Potential Directors for PIRATES 5

We previously reported that Johnny Depp would be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5". The fifth film in the franchise will be returning to the big-screen in 2015. In order to achieve that release date, the production is missing one key factor; a director.

Disney has reportedly compiled a short list of directors that they would be interested in seeing helm the picture. The list includes Fredrik Bond ("The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman"), Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Huntsman"), and directing duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg ("Bandidas", "Kon-Tiki").

Apparently the frontrunners right now are Rønning and Sandberg, but no formal offer has been made. Disney is said to be looking to lock a helmer within the next couple of weeks, in order to begin production at the end of this year.

Who would you like to see helm "Pirates 5"? Let us know in the comments section below!

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5: The Quest for More Dinero" hits AMC Theatres on July 10, 2015.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
