Glenn Close in Talks to Join GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

By AMC May 30, 2013

The interesting casting news for James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" continues. Glenn Close, who has been nominated for numerous Academy Awards, is in talks to join the film. She would be joining a cast that already includes Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, David Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu and Lee Pace as an undisclosed villain.

According to reports, Close would play the leader of the Nova Corps, which has been described as "the intergalactic space patrol". We imagine this character would be similar to Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, which has helped to weave the Marvel Universe together.

Close is an incredible and well-respected actress, so this inclusion would only help further solidify that comic-book films aren't going anywhere soon. The kind of talent that these films have attracted and continue to attract, is rather impressive.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" will hit AMC Theatres on August 1st, 2014.
