We knew "Iron Man 3" was going to be a huge opening, after we saw the impressive International box office numbers roll in. We couldn't have guessed however, that it would open at $175 million, only to become the second highest grossing film for a weekend, behind Marvel's "The Avengers".

The top 5 biggest openings include "The Avengers" at #1 grossing $207 million, "Iron Man 3" at #2 with $175 million, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" at #3 with $169 million, "The Dark Knight Rises" at #4 with $160 million and "The Dark Knight" at #5 with $158 million. That means Disney and Warner Bros. have solidified themselves as the key players to beat for big openings.

"Iron Man 3" reunites us with Robert Downey Jr. in the role he was born to play, and we also get to say hello again to Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as Rhodes and Jon Favreau as Happy. New memorable introductions include Sir Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin and Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
