The "Star Wars: Episode VII" news started to slow down for a minute there. Perhaps it's because J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek Into Darkness" finally hit theaters everywhere. There's now been a pretty big update, on the costumes front, as designer Michael Kaplan has been hired to be the costume designer for the upcoming Abrams-helmed film.
Kaplan and Abrams had previously worked together on several titles, including both "Star Trek" films and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol". Kaplan has also designed costumes for another classic Harrison Ford film "Blade Runner", as well as the Chuck Palahniuk film adaptation "Fight Club", starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
On being asked to join the project, Kaplan stated, "I am very excited to be working on Star Wars. I’m so looking forward to collaborating, once again, with JJ."
