We've all been eagerly anticipating Neill Blomkamp's follow up to "District 9" with "Elysium". The debut of the first trailer was met with enthusiastic results and I couldn't be more excited about it.
With the release date of "Elysium" approaching, which stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, news of Blomkamp's next project has surfaced again.
The film is called "Chappie" and it's tentatively slated for a 2013 release. The film will star Sharlto Copley, a familiar face he works with, and is said to be "a science fiction comedy in an unusual setting".
The most intriguing thing about this project, other than the fact that Blomkamp is a great up-and-coming director, is that Yolandi Vi$$er and Ninja are on the cast list for the film. These two are from the mysterious rap group called Die Antwoord. Do yourself a favor and google Die Antwoord when you have a moment. They are insanely weird, unique and awesome, and if they are indeed in Blomkamp's film, the bar has definitely been raised for originality.
Are you looking forward to "Chappie" based on the information you've heard thus far? Let us know in the comments section below!
