The promotional materials have not stopped for the upcoming "Man of Steel", which is just a little over a month away from the big release. In the theme of our favorite last son of Krypton, Warner Bros. has released a new logo to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the famed character. In conjuction with the celebration, a new Superman short film is also in the works.

Who will helm such an honor? The "Man of Steel" director, Zack Snyder, of course. Snyder is teaming up with "Batman: The Animated Series" co-creator Bruce Timm, "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" director and "Man of Steel" storyboard artist Jay Oliva, as well as DC's Geoff Johns, Mike Carlin and WB Animation's Peter Girardi.

The short is said to "pay homage" to all the renditions of Superman over the years including "Max Fleischer's cartoons, on-screen portrayals by George Reeves and Christopher Reeve, iconic versions drawn by artists Wayne Boring, Curt Swan and Neal Adams, on up through Henry Cavill’s interpretation in Man of Steel."

Are you looking forward to the Superman short and do you like the new logo? Let us know in the comments section below!

This reply if for CMO175: Wow... I had to comment on your posting. The fact that you believe Batman vs. Superman would beat Captain America 3 strikes me as uninformed. Zack Snyder is a visual master... but his stories and pacing and color palate are truly lacking in the development process. Superman simply had no soul... the man and the movie. And the silly destruction of the city and the landscape IS out of character with what Superman is. How many people died as Superman himself crashed through buildings and caused explosions throughout the movie? Superman would NEVER allow that to happen, but Zack Snyder and his writer would... and did. And it was a boring, stupid mess. And he WILL bring that soulless idiocy to Batman vs. Superman. Captain America, on the other hand? Winter Soldier is the most exciting super hero movie since The Dark Knight. And I, a 55 year old long time comic book universe fan, WILL be in line for Captain America 3! I will have to be convinced -- a LOT -- to turn around and spend my money, and time, in a Zack Snyder Batman vs. Superman. Zack Snyder stole a bit of my soul -- and I hate him for it -- when he introduced zombies that can run down a car. If zombies existed, in a Zack Snyder universe, and they move FASTER than any human... then he has introduced a horror universe in which man has NO hope of survival! Mankind cannot survive in this universe where vicious zombies have the speed to overwhelm any human survival situation... and that vision kills the suspense in a zombie movie. Where is the hope? That does not exist in a Zack Snyder movie. That man is Sucker Punching all of us. I'm not taking it any more. There are too many other fan friendly directors of fantasy movies for me to follow. I only hope that Disney/Marvel will hire the same brother director team to direct Captain America 3. That will be a smart move, indeed. RLJ
