Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum Back for INDEPENDENCE DAY Sequel?

It appears that the long awaited sequel to Roland Emmerich's "Independence Day", is full-speed ahead. It's coming to us in two parts, currently titled "ID Forever: Part 1" and "ID Forever: Part 2". I love me some "Independence Day", but whoever came up with those titles, should be demoted.

With the news that Will Smith would not be reprising his role as Captain Steven Hiller, Emmerich did promise we would still see a lot of familiar faces from the original.

With Smith out, that of course heightened our hope that the wise-cracking computer hacker, David Levinson, played by Jeff Goldblum, would be back in all his sarcastic glory. Another fan favorite was of course fighter pilot/El Presidente, Thomas J. Whitmore, played by Bill Pullman. Why it has in no way been officially confirmed, our hearts may soon be smiling because both actors have expressed interest in reprising their roles. The additions of these two characters would certainly make it feel like a sequel at least.

While Smith is rumored to not be returning to a starring role because he is "too expensive", word on the street is that he could be making an appearance for a small cameo. For nostalgia alone, I personally would love to see Big Willie give us a little love as Captain Hiller again. That is if he can take a break from managing his son's career, to focus for a bit on his own.

Good news, Emmerich and team. Now just change that ridiculous title, and we'll be back in business.

What do you make of this potential casting news? Let us know in the comments section below!

"ID Forever: Part I" hits AMC Theatres on July 3rd, 2015.

I see one that's great enough to stand on his own in a flick and I see two generic Super Heroes below him played by descent actors that will suck of no fault of their own. DC Entertainment and Zack piss off Snyder have destroyed any chance of a good Superman flick. It's generic and badly delivered to screen. What a tragedy to finally get to see the big 3 on screen after all these years only to watch them in piss poor dark generic looking outfits and rewritten backgrounds. FAILURE! DC Entertainment needs to pull their heads out of their asses and give us something good besides Dark Knight and Batman. To my point GO MARVEL!!!!!! May we all be laughing at DC Comics in the end for playing this awful prank on the true fans.

Marvel has nothing to worry about. DC Entertainment has already killed Superman in this so called "Man of Steel" series of movies. Does anyone recall how the first one sucked? That movie in no way other then title had the tone of Superman. DC has shot themselves in the foot far before the release date against Marvel that knows how to build on charactors, respect them, and the fans. Before all this bull crap with revamping I was 100% behind DC Comics. They have proved one bad film over another that Batman is the only one in the JLA they can get right. This knockoff Superman is and was terrible! Wonder Woman will be just as bad or worse being that DC Comics likes to screw around with her origin and costume the most out of any DC charactor since creation. They simply just don't know what the heck they are doing or how to stay true to the roots of these heroes who have endured for 70 plus years. MOS2 may make it at the box office but mark my words it will not in any way be because it's a great flick. Just the hopefuls having to justify to themselves right and wrongs of the contents. It will suck! Line up for Captain America 3 and catch this flick in the red box.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.
