The very interesting cast continues to become more so, for James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy". We heard word that John C. Reilly was in the running but now it's been confirmed that he's officially on board.
Reilly will be playing Ronan the Accuser, the son of mega-villain Thanos. Ronan first appeared in the Marvel Universe in the Fantastic Four. He is said to have "superhuman strength, endurance, speed and reflexes." In terms of weapons, he carries a hammer and wears an armor that makes him invisible. It will be fun to see Reilly embrace a character with a darker side.
The cast of "Guardians" is perhaps a smorgasbord of a bunch of different personalities but that certainly doesn't mean talent is lacking. The roster already includes Benicio Del Toro, Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close, Chris Pratt, Lee Pace and many other familiar faces.
Do you think Reilly will make a good Ronan? Let us know in the comments section below!
"Guardians of the Galaxy" will hit AMC Theatres on August 1st, 2014.
