New HOBBIT Cover Features Orlando Bloom as Legolas

A new Empire magazine cover has been revealed for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", featuring some Elves from the film. Front and center on the cover is Legolas, portrayed by Orlando Bloom, as well as Tauriel played by "Lost" star Evangeline Lily and Thranduil (Lee Pace).

Peter Jackson leads us back into our beloved Middle-Earth with the second installment of his new franchise. The first film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" was a big success and the third film will be released next year, which is titled "The Hobbit: There And Back Again".

The inclusion of Legolas and Tauriel is a bit of a mixed bag in terms of response. Both were not in the original "Hobbit" book, so the diehard fans are the ones finding it harder to swallow. They do exist in the same universe however, so I personallly think that makes it more passable. A good character is a good character, and very few book-to-film-adaptations are verbatim anyway.

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" will hit AMC Theatres on December 13th 2013.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
