We've been getting glimpses of set photos and sound bites from Marc Webb's upcoming "Amazing Spider-Man 2". The film reunites us with the new Spider-Man, as portrayed by Andrew Garfield, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. We are also introduced to two new villains in the form of Max Dillion/Electro (Jamie Foxx) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti). Apparently Sony is so confident and hopeful in this franchise, that the release dates have been locked for the third and fourth installments.
"Amazing Spider-Man 3" will be released on June 10, 2016 and "Amazing Spider-Man 4" will be released on May 4, 2018. Sam Raimi's versions also made a large amount of money for the studio, and Webb's first installment of the reboot made $750 million worldwide at the box office last year. Sony is going to continue rebooting this franchise until the end of time.
Jeff Blake, Chariman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution at Sony Pictures, made the following announcement, "Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we're thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years."
