The D.C. Universe has been a hot topic of conversation for a while now, illuminated even more so now that "Man of Steel" was such a success. The film has grossed $408 million worldwide and counting. We already heard the good word that a "Man of Steel 2" was green-lit and that a "Justice League" movie would be possible, pending the success of "MOS".
While many, including myself, didn't agree with all the choices in the script for "Man of Steel", it was still a fantastic film depicting our favorite last son of Krypton in a great light. The production was epic yet grounded, in a world that felt familiar to us. Between Snyder's film and Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Trilogy", they have certainly helped pave the way for Warner Bros, to allow the larger D.C. Universe to expand before our very eyes. Goodie, goodie gumdrops.
It's a difficult film to top, given the impressive proportions of "Man of Steel". Snyder discusses just how far along they are in the process, which isn't very far at all:
"I’m going to be a hundred percent honest with you. I haven’t yet gotten to speak to the studio about all these awesome details (because I’ve been overseas on the junket). So my hope is, when I get home I can sit down with everyone and it’ll be like ‘Okay, so what are we going to do?...We need to do something."’
So is Snyder going to be the man to pave the way for the "Justice League" film we've all been waiting for?
"I really wanted to expand the DC Universe and I really wanted to make sure, in Superman’s world, that all that is a possibility," said Snyder.
