There are a few films that release every year, that builds momentum and excitement, when fans literally know next to nothing about it. Who doesn't love a little mystery right? Such is the case with Brad Bird's "Tomorrowland". We know that the lovable George Clooney is attached to star, as well as Hugh Laurie from "House" fame, Raffey Cassidy ("Snow White and the Huntsman") and Thomas Robinson.
We also know that Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen are penning the script. Lindelof received a lot of negative criticism for his work on "Prometheus", so adding a solid sci-fi film to his resume right about now is just what he needs. Now it's being reported that the female lead has also been chosen.
Britt Robertson ("Under the Dome") has officially joined the roster. Her character is described as "a high school girl with an unconventional understanding of technology [who] is launched on a journey to reclaim her future." It would make sense for her to play Clooney's daughter, but nothing has been confirmed on that front yet.
As mentioned few details have been confirmed, but it's being speculated that it will deal with UFO's and extraterrestrial life. Disney historian Jim Hill states that "Tomorrowland" will discuss Walt Disney's involvement with a project called Project Blue Book, which informed the public of the existence of UFO's. That is purely just a theory on Hill's part to date but given that we know the film is based on Lindelof's research of the contents of the 1952 box, it does seem fitting.
