Several cast members from HBO's hit epic "Game of Thrones" are making moves. First word hit the Richard Madden, who plays the King of the North, was locked in to play Prince Charming in Kenneth Branagh's "Cinderella". Now we get our first glimpse of Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the series, in Paul W.S. Anderson's "Pompeii".
The film is set in Summer 79 A.D. in Pomeii, and revolves around a slave (Harington) of a shipping tycoon. He hopes to one day buy his freedom and marry the daughter of his master, played by Emily Browning. True to the times, he isn't aware that she has already been promised to a corrupt Roman senator and he has been sold off to another master in order to ensure he won't cause any problems for the match.
If you know anything about the history of Pompeii, we know that fate strikes again and that Mt. Vesuvius erupts to destroy and cover their entire city in fire, lava and ash. The slave is determined through it all to save his love and best friend from destruction, while battling his own demons trapped on a ship traveling to Naples.
Harington was previously seen in "Silent Hill: Revelation" and the upcoming adventure "Seventh Son". He's a very talented actor and I have confidence he will handle his first leading role on the big-screen like a pro.
