Sci-fi and fanboy goddess Zoe Saldana said a couple of weeks ago that she believed James Cameron and team would start shooting the "Avatar" sequel sometime in 2014. Now it appears that Cameron isn't quite ready to jump into production, as he has hired a screenwriter to help refine the script.
Josh Friedman, known for his writing credits on "War of the Worlds" and "The Black Dahlia", is the writer hired for the gig. Perhaps the fact that he worked on "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" instills more faith in Cameron, despite Cameron not being involved with the show?
Cameron has been working on the script for several years, so it is believed that Friedman is just his muse and a fresh set of eyes, helping him rewrite it, in order to become a more cohesive whole. Either way, "Avatar" was known far less for its story and more for its incredible technology and its rich, beautiful world.
