Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas Confirmed For EXPENDABLES 3

After the news that Bruce Willis has left and Harrison Ford has joined "Expendables 3", the casting news continues to pour in. It's been confirmed that Mel Gibson is set to play the film's villain and Antonio Banderas has also joined the cast, in an unspecified role.

Gibson's name has been tossed in the mix a lot for this franchise. Sylvester Stallone originally wanted him to helm the second installment, and now he is locked in as the main antagonist. I really like Gibson as an actor and think he will be a great addition to the franchise.

Banderas is also no stranger to action, having shined in such films as "The Mask of Zorro" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico". While we don't know who he will be playing yet, I'm a big fan of his charisma on the big-screen.

Gibson and Banderas join a a new and old cast that already includes Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Milla Jovovich, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Jackie Chan, Jason Stathom, Stallone himself, and many more. Quite the full roster of action-stars indeed. Well played, Stallone.

Are you happy that Gibson and Banderas have joined the cast? Let us know in the comments section below!

"Expendables 3" will hit AMC Theatres on August 15th, 2014.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
