The wonderful Hugh Jackman is at the height of his game. He has never been better at the clawing superhero than in James Mangold's "The Wolverine" and he received critical accolades in "Prisoners", which is currently playing in AMC Theatres. Now we catch wind of his next project, revealed to us by Jackman himself.
In a recent interview, Jackman stated, "I am doing a role in Neill’s new film, called Chappie, which we shoot in Johannesburg. I’m there for a couple of weeks at the beginning of next year."
"Chappie" is an adaptation of Blomkamp’s own short film "Tetra Vaal," which also takes place in the slums. "It’s like a fundamentally more simple story, a comedy, a heartfelt story, in a science fiction setting," said Blomkamp. "And it’s fu*king hilarious, it’s a really cool film. I can say that with confidence…It’s a smaller film, a more esoteric one."
We already know that Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley is set to voice the robot and that South African rap duo Ninja and Yolandi Visser from Die Antwoord, are going to play the local gangsters that kidnap the robot. Jackman seems like an interesting choice and I'm looking forward to seeing it all play out.

"Chappie" will hit AMC Theatres on August 19th, 2014.
