INSIDIOUS 3 in the Works

James Wan's horror sequel "Insidious Chapter 2" opened very strongly this past weekend, bringing in $41 million on a $5 million budget. A success by such monetary standards would natural inspire the studio to want a third film, and a third film is what we're getting.

It's been confirmed that writer Leigh Whannell, who penned the first two screenplays and also co-stared as Specs in the film, will be back to write the third. Producer Jason Blum, who produced the first two films as well many other successful horror films such as the "Paranormal Activity" franchise, "The Purge" and "Sinister", is also returning.

There is no mention of a director so far and it seems unlikely that Wan will be back, as he recently stated that he is "finished with the horror genre". His next film is "Fast and Furious 7", so he is certainly straying away from horror, and replacing his scares with cars. It would be cool if he decided to finish the trilogy however, as that so rarely happens these days, and he's so great at perfecting the formula.

There is also no confirmation on whether any of the actors such as Rose Byrne or Patrick Wilson will return. It too seems unlikely however, being that one of their bigger pulls to return to the franchise for the second time, was to work with Wan again.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.
