Shailene Woodley first captivated audiences starring opposite George Clooney in Alexander Payne's "The Descendants". Since then, she brought a lot of depth and emotion to "The Spectacular Now" with Miles Teller, and now we'll get to see her tackle the sci-fi film "Divergent".
Based on Veronica Roth's popular book series, "Divergent" tells the story of a society where people are divided into social factions based on their individual traits and personalities. Tris however, played by Woodley, doesn't belong to any one faction, resulting in her being considered a threat to the natural order of how the society is run.
In the two posters, we see Woodley's character has three bird tattoos, which marks the Dauntless (courageous) faction that she joined. The male poster we see, who is covered in tattoos, is of the character Four (Theo James). His tattoos represent the five factions the books describes, which also include Abnegation (selflessness), Candor (honesty), Erudition (intelligence), and Amity (peace).
