Director Danny Boyle has dabbled with every genre under the sun with his incredible film repertoire. From "Trainspotting" to "127 Hours", "28 Days Later" and his Academy Award winning "Slumdog Millionaire", the acclaimed director has proven he can bring any subject matter to life, in a captivating and artistic way. Now his next film project has been revealed and it appears he is headed back into the complex world of thievery.
Boyle will be producing a feature film based on the documentary "Smash & Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers". Reportedly he took such an interest in adapting a film after viewing the doc, that he approached Fox Searchlight about the project. If a director like Boyle approaches you for something he thinks will be gold, you should definitely attentively listen. Glad to see that Fox agrees.
Boyle touched on art thieves in his latest film "Trance" with James McAvoy and now this story will center around the international jewel trade, primarily diamond thieves. No plot details or a screenwriter are currently attached at this time but we imagine the project will get moving along sooner than later.
