We reported a couple of days ago that actor Charlie Hunnam suddenly dropped out of "50 Shades of Grey", just a couple months after his casting announcement. Many speculated that Hunnam and his camp perhaps thought it was a career killer, thus resulting in the departure. But now it looks like there may be a bit more to the story.
Apparently Hunnam was majorly butting heads with the creative and production team. He kept submitting script notes that were originally well-received but then apparently went too far in trying to get script approval.
The negative backlash of Hunnam's casting also forced Universal to hire him more bodyguards for the actor at a recent Sons of Anarchy premiere. The social sites exploded with negativity and Hunnam was even forced to cancel a few appearances to promote the new "Sons" season.
So who will fill the big shoes of the billionaire, playboy S&M enthusiast? Reportedly Robert Pattinson was one of the top choices but wasn't interested and Garrret Hedlund ("Tron: Legacy") was also a frontrunner, but he too passed.
At the time being, Dakota Johnson is still set to play Anastasia Steele. Now it's just a question of finding her Mr. Grey.
