Now that J.J. Abrams is ditching Captain Kirk and the Enterprise for a galaxy far, far away, the question on every fanboys mind has been, who will direct "Star Trek 3?" A few names have been tossed in the mix and now Joe Cornish, who made a splash with his 2011 "Attack the Block", is being eyed again to helm.
Cornish was previously courted my Paramount to help the picture but turned it down. Sure, it's a serious undertaking, but it could also elevate his career to the next level if he nailed it. Also having some impressive writing credits under his belt, Cornish has been working on Marvel's "Ant-Man" with director Edgar Wright.
Abrams will remain on as a producer for the third installment, as well as writers-producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. We'll keep you poated as the story develops.
Will Cornish be taking the Enterprise Crew to their next adventure? Let us know if you think he's the right fit in the comments below!
