Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt made a splash with his directorial debut earlier this year with "Don Jon". Now it has been confirmed that the triple threat will star in and direct his next film venture "Sandman".
Adapted from the popular graphic novel series, the "Sandman" script was written by "The Dark Knight" and "Man of Steel" scribe David Goyer. If successful, and Gordon-Levitt definitely has the pull and talent, this could prove to become a new film franchise for Warner Bros.
Sandman is based on the graphic novel series from Neil Gaiman, who will serve as executive producer on the film. The series was first published in 1989 and it is believed that the film will be based on the first Sandman story arc titled "Preludes and Nocturnes" as indicted by the #Prelude in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's tweet, which can be seen below:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm incredibly honored to be working with David Goyer, Warner Bros, and @neilhimself on SANDMAN. #Prelude"
It is presumed that Gordon-Levitt will star as the title character Dream and that his brothers and sisters will also play a big part in the film, who are known as the Endless (Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny).
