Sacha Baron Cohen in Talks to Join ALICE IN WONDERLAND Sequel

By Amirose Eisenbach January 24, 2014

Sacha Baron Cohen has built his career on creating incredibly vibrant and kooky characters. After dropping out from the Freddie Mercury project, which he seemed like a perfect fit for, news of his next potential project has surfaced. Cohen may join Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska in the "Alice in Wonderland" sequel, which is now officially titled "Through the Looking Glass".

Cohen feels like a natural fit to join a fantasy film like this one. He has already played villainous roles as seen in "Les Miserables" and "Hugo" and his eccentric nature feels like a wonderful addition to the mystical world of Wonderland.

Tim Burton helmed the first picture and James Bobin, known for directing "The Muppets", is taking over for the sequel. The story fell a little flat but the visuals were fantastic. Bobin should hopefully help fill in the holes for the storyline but keep the cool tone and world that Burton created.
