Marvel has been dominating the box office in recent years with their planned Phases, and that framework doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Yesterday it was reported that Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to helm "Captain America 3", just after the wrapped "Captain America 2". That certainly instills much confidence for fans and audiences alike, since Marvel is not in the business of playing it safe, so they must feel they have tapped into something fantastic with the directing duo.
Now news of another third chapter has surfaced, in the form of our favorite God of Thunder with "Thor 3". Alan Taylor's "Thor: The Dark World" was critically and financially a hit, so it comes as no surprise that it will become a trilogy. The screenwriters have now been confirmed and Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost have been hired to co-write the script.
Yost has been involved with the Marvel family for some time now, having penned several Marvel comics and animated series. He also did a script polish on "Thor: The Dark World", so he is very familiar with the tone and main players of that particular franchise.
Kyle, who serves as the senior vice president of production at Marvel, has worked extensively in Marvel animation as well and also served as an executive producer on "Thor: The Dark World". Both of these gents seem to be quite a seamless fit to take us on our next adventure to Asgard and beyond.
We aren't sure as to the plot details or any specifics at this time, but given the success of both Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, you can almost guarantee they will be reprising their roles.
