The Big Winners of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards

By Amirose Eisenbach January 13, 2014

The 2014 Annual Golden Globes kicked off last night in Beverly Hills, CA. Always one of the most star-studded occasions, the Hollywood Foreign Press honored the best achievements in film and television in 2013, both in foreign and domestic markets. The lovely Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned to host the awards this year and did another fantastic job keeping comedy and the pace flowing smoothly.

While the Globes aren't as respected as the Academy Awards, they are still acknowledging some of the best performances and talent of the year. The race is also not as tight as for the Oscars as the biggest award being that of best picture, is broken down into two categories; Drama and Musical or Comedy.

The big winners of the night included the following:

Best Picture Drama: 12 Years A Slave

Best Picture Musical Or Comedy: American Hustle

Best Actress Drama: Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine)

Best Actress Musical Or Comedy: Amy Adams (American Hustle)

Best Actor Drama: Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club)

Best Actor Musical Or Comedy: Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street)

Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club)

Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle)

Best Animated Film: Frozen

Best Director: Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity)
