Adam Driver in Final Negotiations to Play Villain in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

By Amirose Eisenbach February 27, 2014

Adam Driver, best known as Lena Dunham's boyfriend Adam on "Girls", was rumored to be up for Nightwing in "Batman Vs. Superman". While that didn't pan out, it looks like he may be joining an even larger fanboy franchise. Driver is reportedly in final negotiations to play the villain in J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII".

According to sources, Michael Fassbender and Joel Kinnaman had both previously met for the role. True to all of Abrams' projects, most of the details surrounding the production are being kept in secret. His role is being briefly described however, as being like Darth Vader in the original films. You had me at Darth. This new generation of fans of the galaxy far, far away definitely need a worthy villain.

The original cast including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are all expected to return. The production will begin shooting in London this Spring.

Driver was last seen in the Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis" and was recently cast as starring opposite Andrew Garfield in Martin Scorsese's "Silence".
