I certainly enjoyed the bromance between Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill in Marty Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street". They had great chemistry and surprisingly complimented each other's styles well. Apparently the feeling was mutual and the two are re-teaming for another project.
Titled "American Nightmare", the project is based on a true story following security guard Richard Jewell. The fascinating story of Jewell is comprised of his becoming a national hero, followed by being a main suspect in the Olympic Park bombing. The Vanity Fair article "American Nightmare: The Ballad of Richard Jewell, which was written by Marie Brenner, will serve as the outline for the screenplay.
Hill will play the title character of Jewell, while DiCaprio will play his lawyer. The trial lasted for many months and the charges were eventually dropped but it was certainly a rocky time for Jewell.
Brenner seems to have the knack for writing stories that would make great movies. Her other article "The Man Who Knew Too Much", was also adapted into a big-screen project, Michael Mann's "The Insider".
No word yet on who will direct the film but the duo reuniting is good news indeed and the subject matter is quite interesting.
