Pre-Production Begins on David Yates' TARZAN Starring Alexander Skarsgård

After years of attempted development, it looks like a live action "Tarzan" is heading to the big screen once again. Yesterday Warner Bros announced that pre-production has begun on the new film that will hit AMC Theatres everywhere on July 1st 2016. The film will star the sheriff vampire from "True Blood" Alexander Skarsgård, as the title character. It will also star Margot Robbie ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), as Jane, Samuel L. Jackson and two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz.

As announced a few months ago before it was paused, "Harry Potter" director David Yates will still helm the film. It feels like a good fit since the world he created for wizards and witches was so rich, that should translate well to the deep inter-workings of the jungle.

Before Robbie was cast as Jane, the lovely and talented Jessica Chastain was in talks to play her. She seemed like the absolute perfect fit but Robbie has turned heads in the last two films she's been in, so will not doubt do a great job.

Skarsgård has recently been seen in "The East" and "Battleship", and this role is definitely a departure from his other work, which is a good thing. His build, on-screen presence and acting abilities seem like a great fit to play the King of the Jungle.

I see one that's great enough to stand on his own in a flick and I see two generic Super Heroes below him played by descent actors that will suck of no fault of their own. DC Entertainment and Zack piss off Snyder have destroyed any chance of a good Superman flick. It's generic and badly delivered to screen. What a tragedy to finally get to see the big 3 on screen after all these years only to watch them in piss poor dark generic looking outfits and rewritten backgrounds. FAILURE! DC Entertainment needs to pull their heads out of their asses and give us something good besides Dark Knight and Batman. To my point GO MARVEL!!!!!! May we all be laughing at DC Comics in the end for playing this awful prank on the true fans.

Marvel has nothing to worry about. DC Entertainment has already killed Superman in this so called "Man of Steel" series of movies. Does anyone recall how the first one sucked? That movie in no way other then title had the tone of Superman. DC has shot themselves in the foot far before the release date against Marvel that knows how to build on charactors, respect them, and the fans. Before all this bull crap with revamping I was 100% behind DC Comics. They have proved one bad film over another that Batman is the only one in the JLA they can get right. This knockoff Superman is and was terrible! Wonder Woman will be just as bad or worse being that DC Comics likes to screw around with her origin and costume the most out of any DC charactor since creation. They simply just don't know what the heck they are doing or how to stay true to the roots of these heroes who have endured for 70 plus years. MOS2 may make it at the box office but mark my words it will not in any way be because it's a great flick. Just the hopefuls having to justify to themselves right and wrongs of the contents. It will suck! Line up for Captain America 3 and catch this flick in the red box.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.
